EIT Community Hub Croatia Brings Innovation Opportunities to Osijek

On 15 September 2026, EIT Community Hub Croatia brought together students, researchers, entrepreneurs, startups and representatives of local institutions at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek to present practical ways to engage with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).

Participants explored programmes, training opportunities, funding sources and open calls across the EIT Community, covering fields such as health, food, water, energy, digital technologies and sustainable urban mobility. The session also introduced practical tools for finding relevant opportunities and connecting with potential partners across Europe.

Building on Osijek’s experience in the EIT ecosystem

The Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek already has valuable experience within the EIT ecosystem. Through the EUFORIA, TANDEM+, SFF.DeepT+ and EUFORIA 2.0 projects, implemented within EIT Urban Mobility, one of EIT’s Knowledge and Innovation Communities, the Faculty connected with European partners and strengthened its capacity in entrepreneurial education and innovation.

Participation in these projects led to new international collaborations, access to knowledge and funding, and opportunities for staff and students to develop relevant skills. It also helped the Faculty build long-term partnerships that have supported further project applications and closer cooperation with the business community.

Connecting local potential with European opportunities

The Faculty’s experience gave participants a local example of how engagement with the EIT Community can grow from an initial project into sustained international cooperation. It also confirmed Osijek’s potential to contribute to European innovation projects through its academic expertise, entrepreneurial community and established partnerships.

The event gave participants a clearer view of where they could fit within the EIT ecosystem and which programmes, courses or calls could support their next step.

We thank the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek for hosting the event and all participants for their questions, interest and exchange of experiences.
