Honouring the Strength, Leadership and Impact of Ukrainian Women Innovators

The EIT Red Kalyna Award was created in the aftermath of the full-scale invasion, when the EIT Community united to support the women who had become the backbone of their nation – a symbol of resilience, courage, and growth.
Despite the ongoing war, women in Ukraine continue to lead with extraordinary determination. In 2023, more than 50% of new entrepreneurs were women, and over 30% of C-level positions were held by female leaders – surpassing global averages and showing remarkable strength in times of crisis.
Now in its third edition, the EIT Red Kalyna Award shines a light on a rapidly growing community of outstanding Ukrainian women whose talent, resilience and leadership continue to rise year after year. With more exceptional nominations than ever before, selecting just ten finalists has become increasingly challenging — a powerful sign of the depth, creativity and innovation shaping Ukraine’s future.
This year’s awards were presented on 25 November in Budapest, during the EIT Innovation Awards, where the EIT Community gathered to honour the achievements of ten remarkable women making an impact across science, business, design, governance, technology and social development.
