Three 11th-grade students, Raya Pamukova, Maria Metodieva, and Mila Getova from the National Science and Mathematics High School, achieved remarkable success through their participation in the Girls Go Circular (GGC) programme, a Cross-KIC initiative.
The team, known as “Fixon,” designed an innovative drone that predicts fires, an idea that earned them 2nd place in the 2023 GGC Women Challenge and Girls STEM Forum.
The Girls Go Circular programme, in collaboration with the Women and Girls STEM Forum, aims to close the gender gap in STEM by:
- Equipping young women with critical skills.
- Fostering innovation.
Building on their achievements, the girls advanced to one of NASA’s most prestigious competitions in Houston, Texas, where they defended their project among hundreds of global teams.
Their continued achievements highlight the transformative impact of the EIT’s initiatives in empowering women in STEM fields.
