EIT Community RIS Hub Latvia

Uniting the Latvian Innovation Ecosystem

The EIT Community RIS Hub Latvia is committed to fostering innovation, driving economic growth, and advancing sustainable development. Represented by Commercialization Reactor and Riga Technical University (RTU), the hub brings together expertise from both industry and academia to empower local innovators and transform Latvia into a competitive global player in technology and entrepreneurship. Our mission is to build a resilient, knowledge-based economy driven by creativity, adaptability, and cutting-edge advancements. By investing in local talent and nurturing a culture of continuous learning, we ensure that Latvia remains agile and responsive to evolving global challenges, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for all citizens.

About the EIT Community RIS Hub

The EIT Community RIS Hubs in Latvia serve as vital bridges, linking the Latvian innovation ecosystem with the extensive resources of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). The hubs unite industry and academia, each bringing unique strengths to support innovation across Latvia.

With the EIT Community RIS Hub Latvia launched in March 2024 and RTU joining as an additional partner in November, the hub is dedicated to fostering collaboration among local businesses, entrepreneurs, and researchers, integrating Latvian stakeholders into the European innovation community with access to a wide range of opportunities and resources.

Throughout 2024 and 2025, the EIT Community Officers will play a key role in uniting stakeholders, talent, and aspiring innovators across Latvia. By fostering community-building initiatives, they will create high-quality networking opportunities and facilitate access to both financial and non-financial support, connecting local entrepreneurs with the EIT community and enabling entry to European markets, expertise, resources, and networks.

By acting as a bridge between Latvian businesses, industry, talent, venture-building initiatives, educational institutions, and the opportunities offered by EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs), the hub aims to create a central platform for scaling innovative solutions, commercializing technological advances, and accessing critical knowledge and funding.

With EIT’s support, we will develop strategies and tools, both financial and non-financial, to continuously enhance our innovation ecosystem. Our goal is to provide quality opportunities and essential resources at every stage of business development. We will engage more stakeholders by forming international partnerships and sharing best practices, ultimately benefiting everyone in Latvia and strengthening the export potential side of the economic development.
